Chocolate Coffee Rubbed Steak
Ingredients
- 2 NY Strip Steaks
- 1 Teaspoon Ground Coffee
- ¼ Teaspoon Salt
- ¼ Teaspoon Garlic Powder
- ¼ Teaspoon Onion Powder
- ¼ Teaspoon Chili Powder
- ½ Teaspoon Paprika
- 1 Teaspoon Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 1 Teaspoon Coconut Sugar
- 1/8 Teaspoon Cinnamon
- Pinch of Pepper
- 2 Tablespoons Unsweetened Coconut Flakes, for Garnishing
The Rub:
Directions
- Combine the rub ingredients in a medium bowl.
- Trim steaks if needed and coat with the rub.
- Cover the steaks and let it set for at least an hour in the refrigerator.
- Spray a grill pan and preheat over to 400°F.
- Cook the steak until it is nice and seared on each side. Turn down heat to medium and continue cooking until it has reached the desired level of done-ness.
- Once steak is cooked, transfer to a plate and cover with tinfoil to rest for 5-7 minutes.
- Toast the coconut flakes in the oven. 1 to 2 minutes until it is golden.
- Top the cooked steak with the toasted coconut for garnish.
