Vanilla Extract
Ingredients
- 1 Vanilla Bean, Split Lengthwise
- ¾ Cup Brandy or Spiced Rum
Directions
- Place the vanilla bean in the jar and pour the brandy over it. If the bean is not immersed in the brandy, you may cut the bean into pieces.
- Cover with a tight lid and let sit undisturbed for one month.
- Remove the bean (save it for vanilla sugar) and strain the liquid.
- Return the liquid to the glass jar.
